Branding
I knew I wanted the main logo to be an ‘A’. The artist’s name is Allison, and her brand name is Alcove. An A is already shaped like an alcove, but it still didn’t speak to the funky, fun, and unique aspect of the artist's pottery. I wanted the mark to allude to the malleability of clay, while preserving a balance between sophistication and unique expression.
I realized once I had the basic form that the A turned on its side looked like a dinosaur head, aligning with another piece of Allison’s brand. She loves crafting tiny dino figures. The last step was to ensure the logo worked when scaled down as a stamp for her ceramics. The slight 3D effect on the logo reflects the depth of a stamp.
